Swingtown also faced strong opposition from family advocate groups, including the American Family Association and the Parents Television Council, who took issue with the show’s sexual content and portrayal of alternative lifestyles. Their efforts to boycott the show led to companies like Proctor & Gamble and Ace Hardware removing their ads from the show’s broadcasts.
